Looking at engaging First Nations businesses to support your procurement objectives but unsure where to start? Here’s a handy little guide to help you!

Also, for any folks based in South Australia, The Circle First Nations Business Showcase 2023 is being held on October 5, which is a great way to connect with the businesses in person – we hope to see you there!

1.Contact your local First Nations Chamber of Commerce or First Nations Business Hubs in your state/territory/region, such as:

    • SA: The Circle – First Nations Entrepreneur Hub
    • NSW: Yarpa Indigenous Business and Employment Hub
    • NT: Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network
    • WA: Waalitj Hub

2. Search the Supply Nation business directory (national) or your local state/territory’s directory, such as:

    • Victorian Aboriginal business directory
    • SA Aboriginal Business Directory
    • The Aboriginal Business Directory WA
    • Queensland Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Business Directory: Black Business Finder
    • Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network
    • NSW Aboriginal Business Portal

3. Contact your local and Traditional Owner group, Aboriginal Corporation or yarn with local First Nations organisations for introductions and referrals to others.

4. Search for the social media hashtags

#firstnationsbusiness #firstnations #firstnationsartist #shopblak etc.
