Some of you might have seen this in our previous months blogs that our Graphic Designer Lawson Dodd (Kaurna, Narungga & Ngarrindjeri) is the artist for this year’s ‘wear it purple’ campaign which fosters supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people. The day to celebrate this is the 25th of August 2023, so the Ochre Dawn team wore purple to show their support, some either ideas of how to show your support are on their blog here.

This years theme “write your story” was generated by the Youth Action Council:

“IN A WORLD WHERE SOCIAL MEDIA, THE MEDIA AND OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM OFTEN CREATE PRESSURE TO CONFORM TO NORMS, BROKEN STRUCTURES AND CERTAIN STANDARDS, OUR THEME HOPES TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG PEOPLE TO EMBRACE THEIR UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES AND TO SHARE THEIR STORIES WITH OTHERS.”
